Is it possible to be a dedicated homeschooling mom while still making time for myself as an individual (a girlie girl who likes cute shoes)? I like to think so. Follow along, and I'll let you know for sure.

Trust me . . . it's not ALL about the shoes.

History Sleuths at Maitland Historical Society

Too bad mine are too little for this. I look forward to participating in the future!

The Maitland Historical Society will host Mystery Sleuths on October 29th. Students will learn about how museums care for artifacts, what they are, and how they were used in the past. After a fun, hands-on lesson to explore items from the 1880's, the students will tour the Maitland Historical and Telephone museums.

Portions of this event will take place outside. Program space is limited to the first 20 registrants. The cost will be $5 per student (ages 9-12) and $3 per adult. To register, please contact Jill Nash at jnash@maitlandhistory.org or 407-644-2451.

Directions: From I-4, take Exit 90 (Maitland Blvd.) and head east. Turn right at Maitland Ave. and continue past the post office and Horatio Ave., then turn right onto Packwood Ave. You'll travel about halfway down the street, and the museum will be on your right. It is a green building. Park in the lot across the street or directly opposite the museum.
