Is it possible to be a dedicated homeschooling mom while still making time for myself as an individual (a girlie girl who likes cute shoes)? I like to think so. Follow along, and I'll let you know for sure.

Trust me . . . it's not ALL about the shoes.

Baking to End Childhood Hunger

Well, our Great American Bake Sale started off strong yesterday, bring in $125 in the first few hours. Unfortunately, they shut down the market at 11AM due to weather, so we ended up doing a lot of baking for a very abbreviated "sale". The kids really enjoyed it though, and it was fun to watch them devising strategies for bringing customers into the booth. Noah even got a donation for doing a magic trick!

Today, we took the remaining baked goods down to Lake Eola to distribute to the homeless, which is making this afternoon's grocery shopping outing look more like a blessing than a chore. We've been inspired to do more to help and will be looking into volunteering with Food Not Bombs, an organization that cooks and serves vegan meals to the homeless, on a regular basis.
