Letterboxing - Take Me Out to the Ball Game

We headed up to Orange City yesterday to introduce some friends to the fun of letterboxing. The kids were excited to hike along the trail, following clues until they found their treasure.

As an added bonus, the Orange City fire department was there doing some driver training and invited the kids to take a tour of the truck. They got to sit in the front seat, honk the horn and turn on the sirens before checking out all the equipment on the back of the truck. The fireman even pulled out the "jaws of life" to show them and explained how all the hoses on the truck are color coded so always know which hose goes where. It was a wonderful, unexpected surprise that we all enjoyed!
