We were thrilled to hear that Pinocchio's Marionette Theater had recently reopened in the Altamonte Mall. In the past, we had seen several shows at their old location in Orlando and had been once or twice to the Altamonte location before they closed. Fortunately, they have gained the funding needed to reopen and are back in business as of this month!
What is Pinocchio's? Here's a quote from their website: Pinocchio's is one of the very few full-time marionette (string puppet) theaters in the USA. Each day, we schedule performances of a classic children's fairy tale or story. After a two-month run of a title, we change shows. Pinocchio's currently has ten different shows in its repertoire. Each show is elaborately staged in our beautiful theater and each requires three professional puppeteers.
Jack and the Beanstalk is their current show, and both kids really enjoyed it. We went to the 10:30 show, and I was thrilled to see it was a full house! Hopefully they will continue to get the support they need to stay open, because they produce wonderful shows in a great, family-friendly facility. We've enjoyed their Holly Follies show twice in the past and are looking forward to seeing it - along with a few other great-looking holiday shows - again this year.
